Welcome to Electro house

electro house is a fusion genre of several electronic dance music subgenres that came into prominence in the 2000 decade. Stylistically, it combines the minimal-processed four to the floor beats commonly found in house music with harmonically rich analogue or digital basslines derived from electrotech, abrasive high-pitched leads commonly found in progressive psytrance. The tempo is predominant of house music, meaning that it usually ranges from 125 to 140 BPM, while the song structure pertains to trance-like progression.

  • The premises of electro house are thought to have originated from the fusion of tech house and electroclash in the early 2000s. By 2001-02, a subgenre of tech known as electrotech started gaining popularity in Europe (Germany, France, Belgium and Austria), while some Detroit techno and UK DJs were experimenting with lead distortion derived from Israeli psytrance. In late 2005, Matt Schwartz (also known as "The Drill") was the first producer to harmonically integrate such sound into eletrotech structure. The result was complete separation from progressive which defined new ground for house music.

  • Electro house is often shortened to "electro" in informal speak, however, this use is contentious as it may allude to the original electro music (see above). Producers tended to replace "c" in the word with a "k", only to create even more confusion, and the general word "house" has since been given preference.

In the mid to late 2000s, electro house along with other major styles of electronic dance music helped to lay the ground for electro pop music, which fused contemporary R&B, hip hop, crunk, indie rock into dance- and mainstream friendly vocal music with 4-to-the-floor rhythm. Electro pop currently dominates music charts all around the globe.[citation needed]

Recent take on electroclash that resulted in a subgenre that incorporates elements of "fuzz" into unorganized, disassembled dance structure with a variety of downtempo side noises. Fidget first arose in Sweden in late 2006, then spread worldwide.[citation needed]

Pertaining to the original electropop movement, electrohop fuses rap and hip-hop performance into electro house music. First appearing as part of reg house, the subgenre quickly split into its own by 2008, with the most notable compositions being "Day & Nite" by Kid Cudi and "Sexy Bitch" by David Guetta feat. Akon.
